Google Customer Engineer III, Security, Google Cloud in New York, New York

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture and cybersecurity in a customer-facing or support role.

  • 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, fraud, or cloud native architectures in a customer-facing role (e.g., threat detection, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or identity and access management systems) or fraud.

  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Cloud or Security industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP).

  • Experience implementing security solutions for enterprises (e.g., threat detection and hunting, malware intelligence, cloud security posture management, or identity and access management systems) or fraud solutions for enterprises (e.g., account takeover prevention, payment fraud prevention, or other types of automated fraud).

  • Experience in software development, developing numerous web-based applications.

  • Knowledge of product and solution market trends in the cybersecurity or fraud industry (e.g., ransomware, attack frameworks, OWASP, etc.).

  • Excellent problem-solving, verbal, written communication, presentation, and active listening skills.

You listen and deliver what is most helpful for the customer. You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

In this role, you will work with teams dedicated to other pillars in the Google Cloud Security Portfolio, and will build content for use by individual regions for technical enablement. The team consults with the Customer Engineering (CE), Customer Success, Professional Services, and customer teams to generate requirements to User Protection demo environments and business playbooks for the Global CE Organization. The team also aids in agreements with customers either through requests from leaders or by analysis of upcoming opportunities.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$214,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical security and compliance blockers.

  • Share knowledge in security, privacy, and regulatory compliance to support the technical relationship with customers, technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.

  • Work with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.

  • Contribute to programs in areas of security, privacy, and compliance with internal teams (e.g., Marketing, Product, Legal, and Policy), and drive enablement internally to create customer best practices.

  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as needed, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
