The Digital Private Markets business is a fast-growing global team within J.P. Morgan's Corporate & Investment Bank. We are creating a high-profile and exciting new fintech business for the firm, focused on early-stage private markets. As part of this journey a recent company acquisition has been concluded on the data analytics space with a footprint in US and Asia. The acquired company empowers leaders in the private markets to make the smartest investment decisions with the best data and analytics solutions. The latest available technology is used to discover, analyze, and deliver investment insights that were once buried in unstructured documents.

Job summary

As a Senior Business Risk and Controls Associate within the Digital Private Markets, you will be the first line of defense for JPMorgan Chase & Co. (JPMC), preventing, detecting, and monitoring operational, regulatory, and reputational risks. In support of operational excellence, we play a key role in meeting our client commitments and act as a driving force behind the strategic priorities that will future proof our business in an ever-changing global landscape.

Reporting to the Global Head of Digital Private Capital Markets Business Risks & Controls, you will be supporting an agile, future focused, and collaborative team. Job responsibilities:

  • Provide operational risk guidance and analysis for new business, products, initiatives, and strategic acquisitions.

  • Identify, assess, advise, and drive strategic solutions to increase efficiency and create a more resilient operating environment

  • Ensure effectiveness of key controls and lead communications with regulatory and audit bodies, both internally and externally

  • Lead and Oversee governance of business operational risks, escalating issues appropriately to line of business and Firmwide operating committees

  • Collaborate with senior business clients and partners across functional areas (e.g., Legal, Finance, Compliance, Risk) and geographies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • 6+ years of relevant experience; financial services industry or background in Process Improvement or Risk Management.

  • Proficiency working in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • The ability to navigate a matrixed organization and influence peers by articulating the product risks and workable solutions to business partners

  • A curious mind to explore going deep to understand details

  • A positive attitude and team spirit with exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills
