The Hertz Corporation Director, Region Sales in New York, New York

A Day in the Life:

The Director of Regional Sales - Northeast will lead once of the most visible sales regions in the country and this leader will ensure Hertz meets and exceeds strategic growth initiatives by increasing profitable revenue through leading and developing a sales team and by driving strong value-based relationships within our corporate account portfolio; with an emphasis on the Fortune 1000.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, manage and coach a team of sales professionals to maximize growth initiatives within an assigned portfolio of accounts.

  • Implement and drive sales plan for assigned region, in accordance with the company business objectives.

  • Grow and maintain a high performing team, identify, sponsor and coach talent.

  • Create appropriate growth strategies to convert additional business, including driving desired incremental market share to Hertz from target competitive accounts.

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with multiple decision makers within assigned accounts to create and optimize opportunities.

  • Create a culture of partnership and open mindedness between all levels and departments of the organization.

  • Conduct comprehensive research on both existing and target accounts to identify and enhance sales opportunities.

  • Network with industry partners to uncover key facts and details on each target accounts existing programs, strategies, initiatives, key contacts and current supply base.

  • Schedule, facilitate and attend presentation meetings at accounts with Hertz management.

  • Seek opportunities to participate in car rental RFP’s and to submit proposals to target accounts.

  • Be extremely knowledgeable on Hertz value proposition, and capabilities.

  • Communicate opportunities, and market trends affecting assigned accounts.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, engineering or similar field, required; MBA preferred

  • 5+ years of professional experience within retail, travel, hospitality with a focus on sales, finance, pricing, and quality. Other industries acceptable if able to demonstrate relevant correlation

  • Demonstrated project management experience for a broad range of topics and scope, including experience in large scale project management

  • Established track-record of influencing stakeholders from other functional areas with limited formal authority

  • Comfort communicating across all levels within the organization

  • Advanced Microsoft Suite product knowledge (e.g., Powerpoint, Excel)

  • Proficient in Salesforce

  • Demonstrates excellent financial and business acumen

  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across multiple functions and locations

  • Ability to influence

  • Flexible and adaptable; ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Results driven, ability to make decisions and help solve problems

  • Ability to build and lead a diverse, high-performing, results-oriented, and highly-engaged team.

What you'll get:

  • We expect the starting salary to be around $80,000-$90,000 with annual bonus and profit sharing eligibility. The actual salary will be determined based on years of relevant work experience
