Job Description

Our advanced Technology capability delivers cutting-edge, high-impact digital products and platforms by bringing our core offerings to bear. These include marketing technology strategy, platform and tool recommendations, full-stack software/platform development, quality assurance, business analysis, and managed services.

We have strategic partnerships with leading marketing and technology companies, enabling us to utilize top platforms and tools for our clients. By collaborating with Digital Strategy, Experience Design, Creative, Data and Analytics, Project Management, and Account teams, our technologists drive innovation and transforming the marketing landscape. You’ll be working with a diverse group of highly qualified individuals, who bring intellectual curiosity, determination, and creativity to our client work.

We’re seeking a Director, Technical Project Manager to support the successful delivery of complex tech and platform projects throughout their lifecycle, helping to achieve transformative success for our clients. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality outcomes that ensure client satisfaction, meet business requirements, and balance client and

agency economics. This role involves owning project definition, scope monitoring, budgeting and timing of their projects and team deliverables

The ideal candidate will:

• Be collaborative and have a strong work ethic

• Understand the complexities of delivering complex technical engagements

• Communicate ideas, decisions, and reasoning clearly and succinctly to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Have a self-driven desire to stay current with the latest sites, gadgets, trends, and innovations

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading health, client satisfaction, and continuous success of multiple projects and programs for one or multiple clients in a matrixed environment

• Developing and maintaining relationships with the client IT, marketing, customer experience, and promotional review teams as well as internal business and technology teams

• Ensuring the team utilizes a flexible project management approach through a strong understanding of Agile, Waterfall, & AgileFall methodologies/approaches and when to apply each

• Scoping and estimating complex, multi-channel engagements and being accountable for SOW accuracy

• Developing key operational tools (e.g., team or brand-specific processes)

• Leading large teams to drive complex technology-focused programs/engagements to completion based on scope and budget.

• Demonstrating the ability to hire and retain highly capable people while cultivating diversity and career development

• Maintaining project financials and tracking burn of budget/hours against scope on a weekly basis

• Driving production of accurate and realistic cost-to-complete estimates and forecasts for assigned projects through collaboration with project leads (and Business Manager if available)

• Reviewing projects to resolve resource and skill requirements; driving resource allocation management; partnering with project leads to ensure the right resources are assigned

• Being accountable for project plan creation and management

• Proactively seeking opportunities to adjust processes for efficiencies

• Structuring and leading project status reviews; leading cross-team post-mortem sessions

• Partnering with account and technology teams to provide appropriate and consistent communication directly to clients to manage expectations clearly

• Developing and managing risk mitigation plans

• Understanding the client’s business and planning projects accordingly

• Driving difficult or complex project delivery discussions with clients and facilitate resolution

• Accurately estimating projects and large-scale engagements, as well as writing scope documents

• Removing impediments from both day-to-day projects and organizational progress

• Driving cross-capability team adherence to the SDLC process

• Collaborating with team leads across technology and other capabilities involved in the project

• Contributing to the Technology Management practice and the Technology capability’s continuous improvement activities by bringing innovative ideas to the table

• Continuously staying current on emerging digital marketing technologies, best-practices, and trends

• Aiding in managing and developing the capability to adapt to changing environments and needs, and driving and coaching teams to successful solutions and continuous skill development and growth

• Providing support to new business pitches and identifying upsell opportunities

Qualifications

To qualify, you’ll need:

• Four-year degree (Computer Science or equivalent preferred) or equivalent work experience

• 10+ years of experience within the marketing technology or IT space

• 7+ years of leading/project-managing complex technology projects

• 2+ years of experience delivering enterprise omni-channel connected marketing solutions and experiences

• Deep expertise with software development processes and conventions

• Expertise with the marketing technologies such as websites, emails, banners, databases, and experience

management platforms

• Expertise with business and technical processes to enable technology solutions

• Experience in identifying and communicating project and team risks to leadership and clients

• Experience leading client meetings, presentations, and new business efforts

• Experience leading multiple simultaneous projects

• Experience working within multiple project management methodologies, e.g., Scrum and Waterfall

• Experience with standard business software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira,

web browsers, etc; as well as familiarity with industry-specific tools such as Sketch, Figma, etc.

• Ability and willingness to learn about various marketing technologies and platforms

• Ability to be flexible and tolerate ambiguity while still operating effectively

• Excellent written and verbal skills

• Advanced interpersonal and listening skills

• Demonstratable passion for the brands and our work

• Highly motivated individual with a strong record of professional achievement

• Agile certifications (ex. Scrum Master, Product Owner) a plus

• Creative agency experience a plus

• Pharmaceutical industry experience a plus

• Open to travel as needed

Compensation Range: $106,500 - $179,500. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
