Goldman Sachs & Company Engineering- Web Platform - Program Management - Vice President - New York in New York, New York

Goldman Sachs' design system is the firm's digital experience framework that enables digital product teams to deliver a cohesive user experience across all products and services. It's a collection of reusable components, guided by clear standards, that can be assembled together to build any number of applications. The design system encompasses a number of toolkits, including toolkits for front-end and mobile developers, as well as set of components and templates for the CMS content authors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Engineering Program Manager for the design system, you will:

  • Oversee the strategy of the design system across all major Goldman Sachs divisions
  • Be responsible for the ongoing co-ordination, governance, reporting, dependency management, and resourcing across engineering, marketing and the client divisions
  • Communicate with senior stakeholders to report on progress, highlights, lowlights and risks
  • Work with engineering leads to define project scopes and ensure necessary resourcing, while prioritizing between different product needs

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years relevant experience, preferably in a program / product management function
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and oral; confident in interaction with senior stakeholders
  • Project management skills including program scope definition; issues, challenges, risks definition; status reporting
  • A proven track record of scoping and driving delivery of programs with results delivered in a cross functional team setting, on time and on budget
  • Extensive leadership experience demonstrated through empowerment, situational awareness, increasing transparency and conflict resolution on a large-scale program
  • Ability to engage with and influence stakeholders outside their direct control
  • Strategic thinker able to identify cross functional issues, provide innovative solutions, and communicate the implications of solutions across existing processes, systems and teams, e.g. costs, risk, service
  • Experience in managing technical projects, familiarity with high level web development trends
  • Ability to work on multiple project simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Self-motivated and self-managed with a high degree of analytical ability, innovation and intellectual curiosity

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with / on large-scale design systems
  • Experience developing products using customer and design-centric practices
  • Scripting or programing skills for report automation and data extraction related to program management
  • Knowledge and/or experience of OKR frameworks and how they are used in the delivery of technology products
  • 5+ years of hands-on Agile program leadership experience (at a bank, in the financial industry or in a technology startup) in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA or equivalent

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $115000-$250000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
