The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team partners across the AIG organization to inform strategic decision-making and to facilitate rational risk-taking that drives profitable growth. How you will create an impact

As an ERM Risk Analyst, you will specialize in identifying, assessing, and monitoring emerging risks within the Operations, Governance, and Reporting team. Emerging risks are defined as issues or trends that have the potential to materially impact our business but are not fully developed or clearly understood. Emerging Risk Analysts experience a combination of self-study and on-the-job assignments that will develop your professional knowledge and amplify your research and analysis skills. In support of our knowledge transfer and governance framework, you will communicate on emerging risk issues from an investment, insurance, and operations perspective with colleagues and senior leaders across functions and around the globe. You will analyze risk exposures, create internal and external content on developing emerging risk issues, and interact with professionals at all levels of the organization. Your ability to identify, research, analyze and communicate relevant information on emerging risk topics supports ERM emerging risk governance framework, the ERM Quarterly Briefing, Risk Committee Updates, Emerging Risk SharePoint page, and other internal and external emerging risk presentations and resources.

  • Collaborate with key risk officers in Emerging Risk working groups to outline critical emerging risks for Insurance, Operations, and Investments.

  • Support development of Top Emerging Risks for ERM executive leadership team

  • Conduct research on key risk indicators (KRIs) for emerging risk monitoring

  • Co-author and produce the Emerging Risk Quarterly Briefing Updates.

  • Maintain the Emerging Risk online central depository via SharePoint for quarterly briefings, specific risk updates, and an overview of the Emerging Risk Framework 

  • Regularly facilitate discussion with global risk officers to provide material updates on specific risk issues and educational resources, as relevant.

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the team to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of emerging risk deliverables

  • Research new industry regulations, legal standards, and scientific developments with the potential to affect AIG’s future business and profitability and/or that of its insureds.

  • Explore tools and methods for enhanced knowledge transfer of emerging risk content with the business.

  • Support the Operations, Governance, and Reporting team on ERM training, engagement, business support, and operational optimization initiatives.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Fluent English skills (written & spoken)

  • A working knowledge of, and familiarity with, the general insurance industry

  • Ability to work closely with peers and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders

  • Effective analytical skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail

  • Time management: ability to manage & prioritize workload and shifting deadlines

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to facilitate discussions and assessments at varied levels of the organization

  • Proficient or advanced level of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Open Source Qualitative and/or Quantitative research experience a plus

  • Experience with SharePoint, Adobe, and PowerBI a plus

For positions based in New York, the base salary range is $72,000-$90,000. For positions based in Jersey City, the base salary range is $68,000-$89,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
