Mount Sinai South Nassau is currently seeking Inpatient Psychiatrists to join our facility!

Mount Sinai South Nassau (MSSN) is seeking Inpatient Psychiatrists to be based in Oceanside, New York. MSSN’s Department of Psychiatry is a vibrant community of dedicated and collaborative professionals committed to discovering the causes of, and better treatments for, mental illness and substance use disorders. For over 30 years, our team of behavioral health experts has offered care for people with a sudden, short-term crisis as well as ongoing mental health conditions. We aim to help people manage personal tragedy, job and family situations, medical illness, and difficult diagnosis, as well as a wide range of mental health and substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment in an inpatient unit for adult patients ensuring appropriate medication management and longitudinal care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Inpatient Psychiatrist

Service: Behavioral Health – Inpatient

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct psychiatric evaluation, assessment and treatment

  • Provide evidence-based care to adult patients in our inpatient unit

  • Complete documentation and billing in a timely fashion as required by compliance

  • Ensure compliance with standards of regulatory agencies

  • Assist in providing adequate and appropriate service coverage which includes assisting the inpatient Director in the provision of continuous patient care and documentation

  • Emergency room and hospital psychiatric consultations, treatment and disposition as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • MD or D.O. from an accredited School of Medicine

  • License to practice medicine in the State of New York

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry

Additional Information:

  • Opportunities for formal teaching and clinical research at the Icahn School of Medicine

  • Includes an academic appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Compensation ranges from 255K to 290K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)

Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialties, historical productivity, historical collections, and hospital/community need. As such, an actual salary may fall closer to one or the other end of the range, and in certain circumstances, may wind up being outside of the listed salary range. The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits.
