What’s the role?
Internal Audit’s mission is to provide independent and objective assurance to add value and improve operations. We serve as one of Bloomberg’s critical lines of defense to protect our value and enable growth for a fast-paced technology company. Internal Audit partners with teams and leadership to mature Bloomberg’s control environment, focusing on risk-based and practical recommendations.
This role goes beyond traditional auditing by emphasizing innovation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to drive transformative change within our Internal Audit group. You will be at the forefront of leveraging emerging technologies to enhance audit effectiveness, improve governance, and enable data-driven decision-making.
In this role, you will partner with Lead Auditors covering Bloomberg’s global business, products, and services. You will be responsible for integrating advanced analytics, automation, and AI into the internal audit lifecycle and leading cross-functional initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Enhance the Internal Audit methodology by incorporating innovative auditing practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Lead innovation efforts within Internal Audit by integrating Generative AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics into audit programs to identify risks and deliver value-driven insights.
Leverage a strong understanding of data structures to gather, assess, interpret, and analyze data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness in auditing processes.
Design and implement processes to identify, access, and integrate relevant data sources across the organization, ensuring high-quality inputs for audit analytics.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, team members, and external consultants to execute cutting-edge techniques and tools.
Partner with internal stakeholders to establish data sources to enable real-time or periodic extraction of data.
Keep pace with emerging trends in AI, data analytics, and technology risk, translating these into actionable insights for audit application.
Mentor and guide audit staff on analytics-driven approaches, fostering a learning-oriented and innovative culture.
You’ll need to have:
Demonstrated success in building and executing an advanced data analytics program.
Experience with practical applications of AI and machine learning technologies.
A degree in a technical discipline or relevant professional qualification (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CFE, CAP, or similar).
8+ years of experience, ideally auditing and data analytics, AI
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings to diverse audiences.
Experience applying modernized auditing techniques, with demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, taking a hands on role, to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
We’d love to see:
Direct experience with second-line-of-defense functions, including compliance and risk management.
Experience using a Bloomberg Terminal or similar technology.
A passion for leveraging technology to enhance business value.
