Job Title: Primary Clinician/ Supported Education Employment SpecialistGrade: 18Salary: $64,928 - $75,000The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene Inc. (RFMH) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Primary Clinician/ Supported Education Employment Specialist for the Washington Heights Community Service at the New York State Psychiatric Institute. The OnTrack NY Program is a Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) treatment program at the Washington Heights Community Service, based at the NYS Psychiatric Institute/ Columbia Department of Psychiatry, a premier research, clinical, and academic center. OnTrack NY serves adolescents and young adults experiencing early psychosis. Equity, inclusion, rapid access, and self-determination are at the core of everything we do.The Primary Clinician/ Supported Education Employment Specialist is a full-time, on-site position. 50% of time will be providing clinical care to program participants and their families and 50% will be spent supporting participants in meeting their goals for school and work. The OnTrack NY model offers hopeful, youth-friendly, recovery-oriented work; a supportive & collaborative team-based approach; low participant care load; training and technical assistance in the CSC model; and a learning community of experts and colleagues.Duties and Responsibilities:Serving as the Primary Clinician/ Supported Education Employment Specialist for a subset of program participants, which includes: conducting assessments and treatment, planning; assessing risk and engaging in safety planning; providing individual therapy, care management and family services; providing services in the community as needed; and supporting participants in transitioning from the team to other servicesServing as Primary Clinician/ Supported Education and Employment Specialist for a subset of program participants, which includes: engaging participants and establishing trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of education or competitive employment; collaborating with other team members to deliver SEE support within the context of the model (e.g. helping participants explore their interests, practicing skills that can help them get a job, etc.); providing job development and job search services based on participants' interests; providing support with applying to, returning to or staying in school, including liaising with high school, colleges and other educational institutions; arranging access to entitlements counseling for participants and their families; spending significant time in the community (e.g. participants at home, workplace, school, coffee shop, library; meeting with school personnel and potential employersCollaborating closely with team members and participating in the weekly team meetingEnsuring timely documentation of all services providedCompleting required data reporting for program evaluation and fidelity assessmentComputer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and experience with or ability to learn Microsoft OutlookParticipating in on-call rotation providing after hours support by phone for urgent clinical situationsCompleting other tasks as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Licensed Masters in an appropriate clinical field (social work, mental health counseling or similar)Preferred Qualifications:Training and experience working with adolescents and/or adults diagnosed with mental illness.Experience providing employment or education services.Bilingual English/SpanishWork Location: 1051 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10032To Apply: Submit an application through our website at https://nyspi.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
