New York University Junior Laboratory Associate (Vogel Lab) in New York, New York

The Vogel lab at NYU’s Department of Biology is looking for a highly motivated and

independent individual to work as a full-time Junior Laboratory Associate.

This position is for a trainee preparing for a research path. It will provide development of

technical skills; supervision by senior scientists incorporating an individual development

plan in support of training goals and those of the faculty mentor; and possible

publication of research findings during the appointment period.

Responsibilities may include assistance with ongoing projects that involve

characterization of specific proteins and pathways, as well as general lab maintenance.

Projects in the Vogel lab investigate the post-transcriptional regulation in response to

protein misfolding stress. For more information about our past and ongoing work, visit

https://vogellab.bio.nyu.edu. We are a small and diverse lab which will provide plenty of

direct interactions with the PI and opportunities for professional growth.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this

position is $38,000-$43,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not

limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending

an offer.

The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS in Biology or a related field, 2 years of

research experience, and experience with molecular methods used in a biological

research lab.
