Job Description Summary:
As a member of PayPal's Technology Finance team, the manager will play a key role in providing financial leadership, analytical support, and counsel to senior leaders of the business groups. This role will work closely with Engineering, Product, and Biz Ops leaders and their teams to develop a full understanding of organization's strategic priorities and partner with them to execute and improve financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. The ideal candidate would have strong analytical and financial modeling skills, experience in finance and a proven track record of delivering excellent finance support and strong business partnership.

What you need to know about the role:

This role will include financial planning, forecasting, & analysis to help drive strong business results. Beyond a strong financial background, we are in search of a self-starter, who possesses an inquiring mind, a proactive nature, business acumen, and a fascination for discovering insights.

Your way to impact:

  • Own end to end Finance, Planning, & Analysis (FP&A) partnership to designated Engineering teams
  • Execute on a wide breadth of financial processes on an ongoing and periodic basis including long-range planning, budgeting, month-end close and forecast, consolidation, resource allocation, KPIs, and performance management
  • Help facilitate a collaborative engagement with business to cultivate strong partnership, yield actionable insights and unlock incremental value for the enterprise
  • Your day to day:
    • Develop in-depth understanding of the business to proactively identify key business drivers
    • Communicate financial results and key drivers across a breadth of stakeholders and the business unit teams through concise and effective story telling

    • Streamline, improve, & automate designated workstreams and processes to drive efficiency and improve response time to evolving requests from the business
    • Conduct business case modeling, run deep dive analysis and other ad-hoc financial analysis as needed
    • Maintain assessment of risks and opportunities to drive sound financial decisions
    • Monitor expense and headcount plan vs actual and provide analysis/recommendation for business partners and Finance team.
    • Ad-hoc analysis & projects as needed to support business needs
    • Work autonomously but in collaboration with teammates and business partners supporting a global business

What you need to bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related
  • 5+ years of professional FP&A experience in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data and offer insight and recommendations into business opportunities
  • Outstanding conceptual and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and report performance with attention to detail and accuracy. Managing complex data sets and identifying relevant trends (including pivot tables, charts, Power BI, & overall strong Excel skills)
  • Experience utilizing ERP financial system such as Oracle Hyperion, SAP, or Anaplan
  • Effective time-management and prioritization skills to manage workload
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, ability to build relationships internally and externally, interfacing at all levels
  • Thrives in an environment of continuous change and complexity
  • Results oriented, team player, fun, energetic personality, works well under pressure
  • Must be eager to learn, contribute and share knowledge
  • Proven work ethic and ability to foster a sense of teamwork across all members of the team

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is
$64000 to $156750
