Our FunctionUnder the general direction from the Director of Payroll & Compensation Forecasting, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the payroll administration, and processing. Overall knowledge of the law related to processing payroll including the understanding of administering the federal, state and local tax withholding is a plus. Performs a variety of complex accounting functions in the preparation, processing and maintenance, verification and reconciliation of employee leave information, retirement, payroll/benefit records and payment of funds for Jennison personnel; performs related duties as required. Your ImpactYour responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Payroll ProcessingCalculate compensation based on agreements and liaise with Human ResourcesEntering data into payroll system via input screens for semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll transmissions Process and transmit files to third party vendorsoProduce and transmit payroll funding sheets (payroll, loans, PSPP and 401K)Communicate to retirement plan administrator amounts for each payroll related to the 401K planReconciling pre-payroll transmission reportsPreparing import files for employee benefit programsReconcile, and review quarterly tax file from 3rd Party vendorReview year-end W-2’sGeneral understanding of the federal, state and local withholdings lawsReport new hires to appropriate statesPrimary point person for payroll related questions from employeesGeneral LedgerUnder the direction from the Director of Payroll & Compensation Forecasting, produce and reconcile journal entries for each payroll to the general ledgerReconcile liability accounts related to payroll and various compensation accounts Assist with the year-end processing of:oBonus withholding formsoBonus payroll reconciliationoDeferred compensation electionsoW-2 reconciliation and submissionoCollection and monitoring of IT-2104.1OtherAssist with various internal and external audits:oAnnual company auditoRetirement plan auditoVarious State auditsMaintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and proceduresMaintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidentialMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societiesVarious adhoc requestsYour Required SkillsYour required skills must include:Bachelor’s Degree (advanced degree a plus)2 - 3 years of payroll related or accounting experiencePayroll industry designation a plusSolid working knowledge of accounting principlesSolid understanding of payroll law and proceduresAbility to multi-task, manage time and accept changing prioritiesAbility to partner and interface with Human Resource personnel and effectively communicate with managementDetail orientedAdvanced knowledge of MS Office tools such as: excel, word, outlook and power pointWorking knowledge of Ultimate Software or comparable payroll software a plusWorking knowledge of Business Intelligence Reporting (or similar) a plusWhat We OfferJennison offers a generous benefits package including but not limited to: premier medical benefits, paid time off, a retirement profit sharing plan, wellness reimbursement, fully paid parental leave, family planning support, paid membership to concierge primary care, supplemental mental wellness benefit provides annual allotment of fully paid therapy sessions and unlimited coaching, additional health and wellness benefits, and life insurance. Our hybrid work model provides employees with the flexibility to work remotely 2 days a week. The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $115,000. Individual salaries for this role may vary based on various factors including but not limited to, years of experience, range in corporate level, candidate skills, and geographic location. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including but not limited to, individual and organizational performance.
