The Manager, Clinical Insights and Alliance Incubation , Danaher Diagnostics, will partner with diagnostics-focused Chief Scientific Officers (CSOs) and the six Danaher Diagnostics operating companies (OpCos), to enable realization of a portfolio of innovative biomarker-based diagnostic solutions to high value problems in strategically prioritized disease states. This position is part of the Diagnostics Platform CSO Office and will be fully remote.

Specific duties include but are not limited to:

  • Characterize disease state problems, associated clinical care pathways, market opportunities, business cases, literature searches, and innovative science and technology diagnostic/prognostic biomarker-based solutions to help contribute to the definition of clinical and scientific parameters associated with Target Product Profiles (TPP) for future diagnostic product development on Danaher’s install base of medical device s.

  • Develop and execute on the early “incubation/feasibility” stage of new biomarker innovation programs (similar to technology readiness levels (TRLs), identifying and partnering with external academic medical centers (AMC), biopharma, government (and government funding opportunities), and/or open innovation partner s.

  • Drive strong internal collaboration with Danaher Diagnostics “catchers” (e.g. OpCo New Product Development Teams (NPD)) for which innovation programs are being “pitched” following initial ideation, incubation, and early feasibility/de-risking program phases performed at the Danaher Diagnostics group level. Possess a dynamic range and toggle between strategic and tactical thinking regarding timing of program “pitch-catch” to OpCos to ensure de-risked programs successfully make it into OpCo NPD funnel. Willingness to do some external clinical/scientific focused alliance management after incubation project phases complete until internal partner “catchers” are ready to fully receive the programs.

  • Change Management: Working effectively within and across Danaher Corporate and Diagnostics Operating Companies (horizontally and vertically) to connect people to the bigger picture of branding Danaher collectively as a science and technology innovator.

  • Exceptional ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities in a fast paced and dynamic environment with the ability to embrace unexpected change and adapt to ensure forward progress. High EQ with a self-motivated, collaborative style that will drive trust and followership.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Doctorate degree in a biomedical science (e.g. molecular cell biology, immunology, genetics, microbiology, or related field) with experience (5+ years) in a scientific, technology, or innovation-related role in medical device, in vitro diagnostics (IVD), life sciences, or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Travel requirements: up to 15-20%

  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project goals in a fast-paced environment.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and present complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely.

  • Scientific Research Analysis: Aptitude in triangulating data sources to derive clinical, scientific, and business insights in the context of solving unmet needs in the diagnostics market space as part of Danaher’s portfolio development. Data sources could include voice of customer (VOC), IP landscapes, market reports, industry news, and tracking the latest developments in disease states of interest through conference proceedings and literature searches. Areas of initial interest will include diagnostics in oncology, acute care, neurology, hematology, and infectious disease. The candidate need not have domain expertise in any or all of these areas but should be able to quickly get up to speed, from a scientific perspective, to perform the job duties regardless of the scientific domain. Demonstrated ability to go broad and deep over time on prioritized topics of interest.

It would be a plus if you also possess / have previous experience in:

  • Demonstrated expertise in biomarker discovery, validation, and clinical implementation, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

  • Experience with biomarker-driven clinical trials and personalized medicine approaches

  • Experience with biomarker qualification and validation for regulatory submissions (e.g., FDA, EMA).

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with proven success with external partnerships.

  • Some specialization in a disease area relevant to the Danaher Diagnostics innovation portfolio (e.g., oncology, neurology, infectious disease, and/or hematology) but strong ability, flexibility, and willingness to learn quickly and get up to speed in other disease areas as required.

The salary range for this role is $165-195k. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
