Job Title: Postdoctoral ResearcherGrade: 18Salary: $64,928 - $78,102The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Postdoctoral Research position at the Center for OCD and Related Disorders at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC) in New York City, directed by Blair Simpson, MD, PhD. This position is ideal for someone who wants to work with an interdisciplinary team that conducts cutting-edge patient-oriented research, work in an academic medical center, and receive expert training in the evaluation and treatment of anxiety and OCD. This position will start in the Summer/Fall of 2025 and will involve joining Dr. Simpson’s clinical research program, which is focused on translating neuroscience into new treatments for anxiety and OCD and disseminating evidence- based treatments into clinical practice. Candidates will participate in a variety of research studies (see http://columbiapsychiatry.org/ocd) including a study that is a collaboration with Dr. Edna Foa at the University of Pennsylvania that examines how hormones may alter the brain’s fear network as well as the clinical response to cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Other studies are examining novel therapeutics and developing scalable ways to disseminate cognitive behavioral therapy for OCD into community practice.Interested applicants should submit their CV, and a cover letter addressing the reasons that they are interested in the position, their clinical experience with anxiety and OCD, as well as their career goals.Clinical supervision to meet psychology licensure requirements is provided.Duties and Responsibilities:•Provide project oversight assuring quality of project management. •Provide supervision to externs and research assistants.•Conduct clinical evaluations of research participants and deliver CBT as part of clinical research protocols to those with OCD and anxiety.•Assist with data analysis, manuscript preparation and grant writing.Minimum Qualifications:•A PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA accredited program with the credentials to apply for a limited permit to practice psychology in New York State.•At least 1 year of experience working with patients with anxiety disorders (including OCD)•At least 1 year of experience in delivering CBT. Preferred Qualifications:•Previous experience evaluating individuals with OCD using structured instruments (including the Y-BOCS) and treating them with CBT consisting of Exposure and Response Prevention (EX/RP)•Experience using Microsoft Office products, SPSS, and REDCap.Work Location: 1051 Riverside Drive, New York, NY 10032To Apply: Submit an application through our website at https://nyspi.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
