As a Development/Booking Producer at Dateline NBC, you will be responsible for identifying, contacting, and booking guest interviews for Dateline NBC episodes. The Development/Booking Producer will be overseeing all aspects of production across the United States, including covering trials and producing high-quality interviews under tight deadlines. Your role will involve scripting, producing shoots, booking exclusive interviews, and managing the editing process for long-form reports. You will work closely with correspondents and multiple crews, ensuring that each report is accurate, fair, and engaging.

Responsibilities:

  • Help guide shape and tone of episodes, via prep and support during interviews

  • Cut multiple interviews weekly and draft strong editorial copy with speed and accuracy

  • Write preparation documents and scripts

  • Support distribution of the show, including drafting metadata

  • Contribute to editorial planning of episodes 

  • Consistently generate timely and informed pitches 

  • Develop and produce guest segments

  • Implement work with guidance from Senior and Executive Producer

  • Find and book compelling guests for the show, following booking protocols

  • Contribute to booking and outreach as needed 

PEP Regular  

  • Works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period

  • Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on 1st day of employment 

  • Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months   

  • Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree - preferably in journalism or communications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience preferred

  • Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong editorial judgment and customer service skills

  • Ability to work calmly in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments

  • Strong work ethic and organizational skills

Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
