Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies that support services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. Program Description: Goddard Riverside’s Young Adult Assertive Community Treatment (YACT) Team provides psychiatric treatment and intensive case management for 48 adults with severe mental illnesses. Services include crisis intervention, medication monitoring, social supports, assistance with everyday living needs, access to medical care, psycho-educational supports, and employment assistance.

Purpose of Position:The Program Assistant provides administrative support to the ACT team.

Schedule:Monday through Friday 35 hours per week

Salary Range:$45,730 - $53,000

Unionized by Local 74.

Candidates must have the required qualifications to be considered for the position. The salary offer will be based on the candidate’s number of years experience in the exact or comparable position and additional preferred qualifications will be taken into account.

Roles, Responsibilities, and Essential Duties

  1. Billing
  • Process Medicaid Claims to Managed Care Organizations (MCOs)

  • Prepare Medicaid invoices for client services

  • Maintain relationships with the Claims departments at MCOs

  • Keep track of Prior Authorizations for MCOs

  • Final Quality Assurance for ALL Medicaid Billing (DOH & MCOS), mitigating fraud/waste/abuse.

    1. Office Management
  • Oversight and management of Petty Cash ensuring fiscal and regulatory compliance

  • Work with Director to ensure program and contractual compliance

  • Assist Director in monitoring and overseeing program budget

  • Monitor office equipment; follow up on any repairs needed

  • Monitor office supplies and order as needed

  • Maintain files, make copies.

  • Answer phones, greet and direct visitors

  • Prepare statistical reports

    1. Participate as an ACT team member
  • Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and training programs to upgrade skills and knowledge

  • Attend supervision meetings

  • Work collaboratively with ACT team staff in a team case management model

  • Other tasks as required

    Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, BA preferred

  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written

  • Excellent computer skills

  • At least two years’ prior administrative and billing experience

    Physical Requirements

  • Frequent Computer use

    Work Environment

  • Office setting.

  • Frequent interaction with mentally ill population.
