Market Scan Information Systems, Inc. Quality Assurance Engineer in New York, New York

Market Scan Information Systems, Inc. seeks a Quality Assurance Engineer who will design test plans, scenarios, scripts, and procedures. Document software defects, using a bug tracking system, and report defects to software developers. Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content. Develop testing programs that address areas such as database impacts, software scenarios, regression testing, negative testing, error or bug retests, and usability testing. Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems. Document test procedures to ensure replicability and compliance with standards. Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates. Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, and network environments. Test system modifications to prepare for implementation. Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes. Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, and completeness, in order to mitigate risks. Provide feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality. Create or maintain databases of known test defects. Install, maintain, or use software testing programs. Design, maintain and execute automation scripts in Playwright using JavaScript. Design, maintain and execute automation scripts using C# and selenium. Perform database testing using SQL. Execute Rest API tests using Postman and Soap API tests using ReadyAPI.*Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the United StatesJob Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related IT field plus 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 1 year of experience must include: Identifying gaps between design documents and application behavior using system design analysis techniques; developing test case scenarios and test scripts, analyzing design specifications and diagrams; developing Java scripts to test web services using SOAP UI; developing SQL code to validate systems using database management and analysis techniques; creating automation frameworks and developing scripts by applying Object Oriented programming concepts; and developing infrastructure for automation using JUnit or TestNG test automation frameworks.The anticipated base salary range for this position is $97,911 to $115,850. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses & certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. Minimum Salary: 97,911 Maximum Salary: 115,850 Salary Unit: Yearly
