CAMBA Recreational Aide, Vincent Cyrus Plaza 57 Supportive Housing in New York, New York

Vincent Cyrus Plaza 57 Affordable supportive housing located in the East Harlem section of New York City. The units are studio apartments set aside for formally homeless and people living with HIV/AIDS.

Position: Recreational Aide

Reports To: Program Manager

Location: 57 East 128th Street, New York, N.Y 10035

What The Recreational Aide Does:

  • Maintain professional relationships with clients and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

  • Assist with the teaching of physical education, arts and crafts, performing arts, music, sports, ADL or other recreational activities.

  • Organize, and co-facilitate group community activities.

  • Track and keep records of equipment and supplies used.

  • Monitor clients progress toward their goals

  • Market the program in order to recruit clients

  • Help plan, coordinate, and facilitate social and/or peer support events for clients

  • Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reports

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience

Other Requirements:

  • Experience developing and coordinating recreational activities that reinforce a client’s desire to lead a clean/sober/independent life with a non-profit or other organization that services needs or related populations. 

Compensation: $36,000 annually

When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.

Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
