Job Title: Process Mechanical Designer

Job Description

Join our team as a Lead Process Mechanical Designer, working under the guidance of a Sr Engineer on vital wastewater and environmental projects. You will lead design tasks in wastewater treatment plant design, water treatment design, advanced treatment, and pumping system designs. Projects will range from medium to large scale, where you will be responsible for preparing design calculations, P&IDs, and drawings. Additionally, you will craft specification writings and technical reports for various municipal water and wastewater projects while collaborating with drafters and designers on construction documents.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Chemical Engineering

  • 3-8 years of experience in wastewater design, treatment plant design, pumping system design, or Industrial Design

  • Experience in preparing construction documents including drawings, P&IDs, specifications, control narratives, and technical reports

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and MathCAD

  • Experience with design calculations, drawing production, and specification writing

  • Experience preparing pumping and instrumentation diagrams

  • Oil and Gas experience

  • Bluebeam Experience

  • PE or ability to obtain PE within 6 months from starting

Work Site

This is a fully remote position. This role is W2 and has full benefits and is not a short term contract or 1099 contract.

Work Environment

This role is part of a Process Mechanical Group consisting of 75 people, managed by a Group Discipline Leader. The team includes 12 engineers and 4 designers using BIM and CAD. This is a remote opportunity, allowing you to work from anywhere in the North East under the supervision of a Sr Engineer on significant wastewater treatment projects.
