About the Role:
The Customer Insights team supports Dow Jones strategic goals and their implementation by providing an understanding of our markets, customers and products through market research and user research. As a Research Manager, Customer Insights, you will help grow the Dow Jones portfolio of brands by delivering best-in-class research and insights. You will manage qualitative and UX research projects and lead a team of UX researchers to drive lean, iterative user research that provides quick turnaround insights to inform business decisions. You will also develop strong working relationships with teams and functions at all levels across the business. This will be a highly collaborative role requiring partnerships with Design and Product as well as SMEs and Partners across Dow Jones.
The Research Manager, Customer Insights will report to the VP, Customer Insights.
Responsibilities:
Deliver end-to-end research projects, from taking a brief, to designing a research or analytics approach, through to execution, analysis and reporting, drawing on a wide set of qualitative and UX research methodologies.
Actively share insights and information and ensure uptake of research recommendations by delivering presentations and debriefs to teams across the business.
Manage a UX research team that employs lean research to support the delivery of outstanding end-to-end user experiences through rapid usability testing and other methodologies.
Lead qualitative research explorations, including interviews, focus groups, and other methodologies - ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, and develop capabilities and other team members to ensure a greater volume of internal qualitative work can be carried out internally.
Lead on-going benchmarking initiatives to help Product track opportunities for improvement.
Manage vendor relationships for outsourced user and market research projects
Identify and implement research process improvements
Support the team's drive towards being a Center of Excellence for qualitative and user experience research by upskilling and training other team members, and staying current of the latest techniques and insights.
Required Skill Set:
7+ years experience
Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience
Experience in end-to-end research project management
Proven examples of actionable results that shape and improve the user experience and enable business goals
Experience with developing and implementing research standards and best practices
Experience in moderating focus groups, in-depth interviews and other qualitative techniques.
Strong discussion guide, questionnaire writing and survey design skills
Demonstrate flexibility in responding to changing business priorities and requirements.
Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively and independently.
Understanding of latest Web and App user experience best practices
Understanding of user-centered design principles
