After WWII, the original Mitsubishi organization was disbanded to become independent companies as they are today.

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for the preparation of all tax filing and financial reporting to ensure corporate compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal tax obligations.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Timely and accurately prepare and file federal and state income tax returns

  • Work closely with each affiliate company’s accounting/finance function regarding data needed to complete the tax returns.

  • Compute and prepare quarterly estimated tax payments for each affiliate. Update tax package as needed.

  • Prepare and file various miscellaneous tax filings, included but not limited to 1099’s for certain affiliates, 1042’s (withholding tax filings/reporting of royalty/dividend/interest payments to foreign parties)

  • Complete other filings as needed, including registering affiliates in certain states for income, sales/use, employee withholding taxes as needed.

  • Provide tax provision assistance to the Senior Director, Tax as requested

  • Provide various tax analyses as requested by Senior Director, Tax for tax audit purposes

  • Monitor and research federal and state tax law changes and consequences to US businesses

  • Build relationships and interact with affiliate companies to request and review tax information supplied prior to preparation and filing

  • Draft and prepare various written communications, tax memos, documents, etc.

  • Work closely with outside vendors for all tax preparation and filings.

  • Adhere to department procedures and standards regarding document storage and shared drives

  • Organize and prioritize workload to meet filing deadlines and department objectives

  • Identify and anticipate tax issues and make recommendations on appropriate solutions

  • Provide affiliate companies with tax advice in response to any inquiries

Knowledge / Skills / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA/Master’s degree in Tax a plus

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license beneficial but not required

  • 3+ years of large corporate tax and/or public accounting federal and state compliance experience

  • Proficient with the Thompson Reuters OneSource Tax System

  • Knowledge of tax codes and compliance

  • Strong audit and analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management in a global organization

  • Must be a team player and willing to take on more responsibility as requested by management

  • Multi-lingual skills are a plus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation

Pay Transparency (complete highlighted sections)

  • The salary range for this position is $100,922- $151,382. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
