DUTIES: Develops complex machine learning models which require customized algorithm development to surface critical business insights with minimal supervision of Product Manager and/or their Manager. Deploys large sized machine learning models in production, collaborating with engineering teams, and integrating into processes throughout MongoDB using AWS products, Python and SQL with minimal supervision of Product Manager and/or their Manager. Supervises model maintenance for models deployed in production and supports escalations cross-functionally across data science product portfolio by handling communications with multiple affected teams and identifying source of errors in the code. Does thorough and insightful peer code reviews to ensure quality and security of implementation from other data scientists. Collaborates with data engineering and data architecture teams to design and evaluate new data sets. Works with partner machine learning engineering teams to scope and evaluate new tools to improve productivity of Data Science Team. Works with leadership of Data Science Team and stakeholder teams on planning future initiatives. Handles maintenance and improvements of internal experimentation platform as a core code contributor; collaborates on feature design with Analytics and Engineering. Must appear in office 1 day per week; WFH permissible 4 days per week.Requirements: Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field and three (3) year of experience in Data Science (industry) or in the job offered or related role.Experience and/or education must include: 1. Deploying machine learning and statistical models in production using Python;2.Querying internal data warehouses using SQL and MongoDB Query Language in a scalable manner;3.Using Bayesian significance testing in online experimentation;4.Analyzing text data and creating machine learning models using Natural Language Processing (NLP); 5.Experience with deploying convolutional neural networks models using tools such as Tensorflow or pytorch in production;6.Experience using unit, Integration, End-to-End testing and setting up alerting for deploying models in production using devops tools such as git, drone, PagerDuty, Splunk, Makefile and Python libraries such as pytest or unittest;7.Using applied machine learning, statistical methods and algorithms for online controlled experiments including: parametric and non-parametric statistical testing, reinforcement learning, multi-armed bandits and contextual multi-armed bandits; and8.Distributed computing tools such as Kubernetes and Ray to deploy machine learning models in production.OTHER: Job Site: 1633 Broadway 38th Floor, New York, NY 10019.
