Our Sustainability & Resilience practice collaborates with clients and project partners to integrate successful green solutions into the planning, design, construction, and operation of buildings, reducing their environmental impact at every stage of their life cycle. We use whole system thinking and leading-edge analytical tools to develop innovative solutions that balance economic, social, and environmental factors. Our experienced team offers sustainable design strategies, energy analysis, green building certification consulting, sustainability analysis, and upgrades for existing structures, along with education and training.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Sustainability& Resilience practice to become an industry leader in providing Sustainability Consulting services. You will be analytical, a holistic thinker, and have great interpersonal skills interacting with clients and industry professionals. You'll be well-versed in green building certifications, low-carbon design solutions, and solutions for health and wellness. You'll be knowledgeable and passionate about sustainable building strategies and systems, and familiar with commercial construction techniques and architectural detailing. The role requires excellent oral and written communication skills and enjoyment in working with diverse project teams, building owners, and project typologies.

The goal of the role is to deliver innovative solutions to our clients to ensure their buildings are designed with the highest sustainability, health, and wellness standards. You'll achieve this by working within our team to develop and analyze design approaches, alternate systems, and products that offer our clients solutions to their biggest sustainability challenges.

You will have ample support for internal growth, offering the opportunity to lead teams and projects as part of a growing global team delivering on national and international projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and client relationships. Interact with team members and clients regarding project information.
  • Perform and/or support certification work on projects of all scales: LEED, WELL, fitwel, Passive House, SITES, ParkSmart, Envision, Living Building Challenge, and others as required.
  • Lead and Participate with team members in sustainable design charrettes, workshops, and design competitions. Attend design and construction meetings.
  • Primary focus on East Coast projects with the ability to collaborate on projects across the country and around the globe as opportunities arise with our clients.
  • Collaborate and support sustainable strategies and energy optimization services to architects and owners/developers.
  • Assist clients in goal setting and identifying project-specific targets and metrics as appropriate for the project.
  • Participate/facilitate meetings with project team members to review and document sustainability/certification requirements.
  • Investigate materials and technologies as related to building sustainability, embodied carbon, health, and wellness.


Requirements
  • Background in building science, architectural, engineering, and/or construction fields.
  • 6+ years of experience in building sustainability consulting, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's Degree preferred.
  • LEED Accredited Professional and experience with other third-party certifications such as WELL, Fitwell, Passive House, and Living Building Challenge.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal building regulations, codes, and standards, especially NYC sustainability Local Laws applicable to new and existing buildings.
  • Technical knowledge in the building industry and ability to navigate design and construction documentation. Excellent technical writing and verbal skills.
  • Project management experience: i.e. managing client expectations, managing project teams internally and externally, and managing project schedules and deliverables.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute numerous project responsibilities simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues and clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Bluebeam, Rhino, AutoCAD, and Revit.


Compensation
The rate for this position generally is$99,750-$120,750annually.This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation.Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted byNew YorkEqual Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
