Amazon Senior Software Developer - Tech lead , Amazon Ads in New York, New York

Description

Amazon is investing heavily in building a world class advertising business and we are responsible for helping Advertisers reach customers on and off Amazon. This role is for a new Ad product that will define and deliver self-service sponsored streaming TV advertising to drive discovery and engagement.

This brand new product is strategically important to Amazon Ads business, Retail and Amazon Studio, to create a seamless and positive experience for our customers while helping people who sell on Amazon promote their products off Amazon and reach new audience to drive long term growth.

We are a highly motivated and collaborative team eager to innovative on behalf of our customers and try new ideas and iterate over them.

We’re looking for an experienced, self-starter and hands-on senior software engineer with a proven track record of building distributed applications and services, and tech lead experience. You’ll be responsible for leading junior engineers for owning, designing and delivering highly scalable systems, to build, manage and serve relevant, innovative ads. You will help the team with engineering excellence mechanisms, provide technical guidance and sprint planning and sprint mechanisms.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
