Within our growing Amazon Ads Marketing organization, we are seeking an experienced Sr Promotions Marketing Manager to strategize and implement complex promotional initiatives. This role is responsible for designing and delivering in-depth incentive-based programs driving long term value for advertisers and the business. The candidate will thrive in a cross-functional environment, partnering with Advertising’s internal teams to apply analytical and science-based techniques in assessing advertiser lifetime value, promotional effectiveness, and optimize offer structures to maximize business impact. The Sr Marketing Manager will also proactively identify new opportunities to accelerate promotion awareness and visibility through communications and messaging, ensuring a positive customer experience. To be successful, you’ll need to be highly analytical with strong communication skills who can earn trust and manage competing priorities with key stakeholders across multiple teams. You are excited to test and learn reward-based marketing strategies in a highly data-driven environment, and enthusiastic about delivering insights to partners across Ads Marketing, Finance, Product and Tech.

Key job responsibilities

  • Responsible for promotions strategy and implementation plan, driving use case analyses integrating historical insights to assess return on investment, and executing the promotions communication plan with analytics, marketing operations, advertiser support, and tech teams.

  • Lead promotion testing framework and roadmap to inform long term strategy, and to deliver promotional effectiveness goals on an ongoing basis.

  • Develop and execute marketing communications plan for promotions, including targeted Amazon-owned channels like email. Collaborate with marketing stakeholders on roadmap planning, ensuring cohesive integration of promotions with lifecycle communications.

  • Partner cross-functionally with science and product teams to identify and prioritize opportunities to improve advertiser lifetime value and experience.

  • Drive regular reporting and insights, sharing key learnings and insights with partner stakeholders on shared goals and programs. Provide and implement optimization recommendations for long term success of promotions program.

Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communication or other related field
    • Experience managing incentive-based programs in a lifecycle marketing context
    • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing focused on customer revenue growth, in channels such as email, in-app notifications, paid search, display, and social
    • 2+ years of experience creating and deploying marketing reward or loyalty-based campaigns, developing tailored messaging catered to customers
    • Intermediate experience using Excel in manipulating data and building analytical insights
    • Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to partner and influence others
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities to reach a target deliverable date

Preferred Qualifications

    • MBA or other related Master's degree.
    • 3+ years managing a rewards or loyalty program including product implementation and communications plan
    • Intermediate experience with SQL in performing data extractions and analysis
    • Experience leveraging large data sets for customer segmentation, targeting, experimentation and analysis
    • Strong execution capability with highest standards and in a rapidly evolving business
    • Experience in B2B, high-tech products/services

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $210,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
