The New York Post Digital Network seeks a commercially minded and proactive Senior Social Media Marketing Manager (M-F) who is passionate about creative, shoppable content to join our social media team.

The Social Media Marketing Manager will lead our social commerce strategy and play a pivotal role in conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the elements that enhance the overall impact and engagement of our commerce-related social media content. You will collaborate closely with our commerce editorial, design, marketing, and product teams to ensure a cohesive and engaging visual experience for our followers.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Social Media & Audience Engagement, you will have a significant impact on the success of our growing digital commerce division.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee social commerce strategy and team (one current direct report).

  • Collaborate with audience development and commerce teams, leveraging established and emerging platforms for cutting-edge social media strategies that align with brand commerce goals, driving content engagement and sales.

  • Interpret data, both from affiliate networks and social platforms, to inform strategies and decision-making.

  • Ensure consistent, correct, and up to date data reports on an ongoing basis and for special events as needed.

  • Implement, manage, track and report on paid social activations across networks including but not limited to Meta and Tiktok, with a focus on ROI.

  • Manage social media inquiries from sales and branded content teams, ensuring timely responses.

  • Work seamlessly with editorial, design, marketing, and product teams (NY Post, Page Six, Decider) to align visual content, enhancing individual brand initiatives.

  • Innovate content presentation on social media, experimenting with formats and interactive elements for engaging graphics and videos that showcase commerce-related content.

  • Maintain up-to-date proficiency in social media tech and best practices, adapting to tools, algorithms, and platform advancements.

  • Track and report on internet trends, particularly in the shopping sphere.

  • Proactively engage the audience with timely, trend-inspired content that resonates within the commerce realm.

  • Convey ideas adeptly to both internal and external stakeholders, fostering productive collaboration.

Please note that the commerce initiative is a dynamic and changing business, and responsibilities of this position may adjust with strategy changes.

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing multiple social media accounts for a major publisher or brand.

  • Extensive experience with paid marketing and campaign management.

  • Knowledge of micro and macro digital media trends and emerging platforms.

  • Proven ability to think strategically and translate strategic goals into actionable social media plans that drive commerce-focused results.

  • Familiarity with affiliate networks and data software such as Trackonomics.

  • Ability to multitask, balance priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment, quickly adapting to changing trends and leveraging them to enhance social media strategies.

  • Proficiency in metrics-based decision-making with an emphasis on reading and interpreting data.

  • Adept at analyzing social media data to identify trends, make informed decisions, and refine strategies for optimal engagement.

  • Experience collaborating with e-commerce platforms or commerce-related brands, translating product offerings into engaging social media content.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite, Meta Business Suite, and Google Ad Manager preferred.

  • Ability to be both a self-starter and team player who exhibits strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Photo and video editing experience and excellent writing and copy-editing skills

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.

Note: The NY Post adheres to a hybrid work schedule. This role will be expected to come into the office 4 days a week.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $90,000
