Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Sr. Technical Architect in New York, New York

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center seeks Sr. Technical Architect (New York, NY) to engage with esteemed researchers and physicians to facilitate their computational requirements. Support sophisticated end-user onboarding, develop comprehensive documentation, deliver specialized HPC training & consultation for instrument lifecycle administration, data capture, data transfers & large data statistical analysis. Collaborate with end-users to design & implement customized research computing solutions. Responsible for troubleshooting & performing root cause analysis to resolving server problems as reported by end-users, peers, & other stakeholders. Assist end-user scientific grant & publication proposals via letters of support, data management plans, facilities and resources documents, or hardware quotes. Deploy the release of new technologies as well as design, install, configure, maintain and perform system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware. Research, evaluate, and recommend software and hardware products. Support Web access and electronic messaging services and maintain a secure systems environment. Provide new hardware specifications to end-users based on application needs and anticipated growth, install new servers and maintain the server infrastructure. Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain network (LAN, WAN, wireless and VoIP) multiplexers, hubs and routers, and use remote monitoring tools. Install new workstations and other devices, adding and removing individuals from the list of authorized users, archiving files, overseeing password protection and other security measures, monitoring usage of shared resources, and handling malfunctioning equipment. Select, develop, integrate, and implement network management applications for Internet components. Provide efficient and reliable storage allocation and define backup, recovery, archival procedures. Develop and implement business continuity practices for storage management. Install, configure, test and implement storage management software and hardware. 10% domestic or international travel required. Telecommuting permitted. Must report to office as needed. EEO/VETS/ADA.REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Data Science or a related field plus 2 years of experience in the position offered or a related role. Must have 2 years of experience with the following: working with world-class researchers to support their computing needs; creating documentation and provide HPC training for researchers; working in a large-scale research based HPC environment; working with distributed file storage solutions including GPFS; deploying and troubleshooting Linux Operating Systems including RHERL and CentOS; scripting and Automation (Ansible, Python, and Shell Scripting); job schedulers (LSF and SLURM); GPU-based compute infrastructure including CUDA; advanced knowledge of bioinformatics workflows and scientific research; troubleshooting computational pipelines and code review; programming languages and research software development; working with Jupyter notebook and Rstudio; supporting large datasets; and Using GPU-based compute infrastructure.SALARY:$130,700 - $215,800/yearLOCATION:1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065To apply, please send resume to HR / VM, 633 Third Avenue, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10017 and reference requisition 0042.
