Staff Associate II

The Columbia University Division of General Medicine is seeking a full-time Staff Associate to support NIH-funded research in cardiovascular disease (e.g., lipid and blood pressure control). The candidate will be responsible for data management and data analysis of various cardiovascular cohort studies (e.g., ARIC, CARDIA, HCHS/SOL, MESA, REGARDS, etc.) and national datasets (e.g., NHANES).

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and organizes datasets
  • Performs statistical analyses of datasets, including descriptive analysis, survival analysis, prediction modeling, and multiple imputation
  • Assists in writing manuscripts
  • Create presentations of results and supporting material for scholarly presentations, papers, grant proposals and ongoing research meetings

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Epidemiology/Biostatistics/Public Health or equivalent in education, training and 4 years experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with statistical programming software (Stata, SAS, and R)
  • Familiarity with population health research (e.g., epidemiology, biostatistics) research methods
  • Familiarity with NIH-funded cohort studies (e.g., ARIC, CARDIA, HCHS/SOL, MESA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of cardiovascular disease
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments on time
  • Team player with ability to work well with all levels of personnel

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Epidemiology/Biostatistics/Public Health or equivalent in education, training and experience; or a Master's degree plus two years of related experience
