About the Internship:

Major Capital Projects (MCP) has overall responsibility for the design and construction delivery of the new Midtown Bus Terminal, the construction management of the core and shell of the new Hudson Tunnels for the Gateway Development Commission, planning for the Cross Harbor Freight Program (CHFP), and other projects assigned to it.

Responsibilities:

• Review and update project budget documents based on most current project information

• Analyze change orders and contract documents

• Analyze contractor or consultant invoices

• Participate in contract close-out processes

• Join meetings with Port Authority professionals that integrate project controls and project management

• Develop improved workflow processes

• Evaluate and review expenditures related to grants andstakeholder agreements

• Ad-hoc reporting and analyses

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrollment at a college/university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semester

Desired Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Excel or a similar program

• Financial analysis skills

• Attention to detail

• Good organization and planning skills

• Self-motivation

Internship Details

• The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025

• The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025

• This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)

• The format is expected to be hybrid

Compensation & Benefits

• The hourly rate range is $17.63 to $29.57 (the exact rate will be determined by internship type and rising school year)
