The Market Regulation Intern will assist with investigating trading activity in derivatives markets to detect potential violations of Exchange rules and CFTC Regulations applicable to trading in energy, agricultural, & financial futures and options traded on ICE Futures U.S. markets and provide guidance to market participants based on their dynamic needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop substantive knowledge of Exchange's rules and CFTC regulations
- Stay informed on relevant Federal regulations, policy and developments
- Develop knowledge of commodity markets, particularly related to energy, financial & agricultural markets
- Monitor the relation between cash commodity fundamentals and the futures market, particularly in energy and agricultural markets
- Work with large, complex data sets
- Research data from a variety of real time and post trade systems to identify abnormalities or potential rule violations
- Document detailed analyses of trading activity
- Conduct investigations of potential rule violations by obtaining testimony, compiling records and drafting investigative reports for presentation to disciplinary committees
- Build relationships with market participants and provide guidance on Exchange rules
- Improve common processes to find efficiencies
- Collaborate with others on technology and systems to enhance operational processes
- Contribute individually or as a team member to support functional areas, analyze business processes, and achieve assigned by an experienced manager
- Engage with business partners and contribute to projects that drive significant value
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge and Experience
- Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university and be at least advancing to their junior year in Economics, Finance, Math, or similar major
- Finance / data mining
- Ability to work with data sets
- Familiarity with futures markets, commodities and trading
- Familiarity with data analytic tools is a plus
- Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills
- Possesses effective computer skills, with a solid working knowledge of MS Office
Internship Program Schedule
Internships start on either May 12, 2025, or June 9, 2025, and run until August 1, 2025. Interns should be available to work full-time, 5 days a week, at our New York (Midtown) office.
Hourly Pay Rate for New York Candidates
The expected hourly rate for this role is $30 per hour.
