The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

We are seeking a Technician B to assist with a project using human immune cells to study cell biology in the lab of Emily Mace, PhD. The successful applicant will work as part of a team of graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. Their responsibilities will include assisting with general lab duties and performing independent experiments. This will be a one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on funding.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and analyses cell biology and molecular biology experiments.
  • Cell culture of mammalian cell lines.
  • Prepares, performs, and analyzes confocal microscopy experiments.
  • Performs basic biochemistry experiments including Western blots, immunoprecipitations, and cell fractionations.
  • Performs and analyzes flow cytometry experiments and cell sorting.
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or physics or a completed animal husbandry program or equivalent in education, training and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of related experience preferred.
  • Experience with light microscopy data acquisition and image analysis.
  • Experience with tissue culture.
  • Knowledge of various related laboratory procedures and techniques preferred.

Other Requirements

  • This will be a one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on funding.
