Position Summary
The Department of Physiology/Cellular Biophysics is looking to hire a Technician B to work in the laboratory of Dr. Kousteni.
Responsibilities
- Performing routine cell cultures and molecular biology techniques such as DNA and RNA extractions and PCRs.
- Perform fully-planned experiments under the direction of senior lab personnel, which include areas such as mouse genotyping, treatment, harvest and processing of tissues from mice.
- Assist with management of mouse colonies; record mouse cage numbers.
- Record and track experimental results accurately.
- Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies, perform assays and maintain equipment or specific laboratory resources.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in biology, molecular biology, or biochemistry or related field, or equivalent in combined education, training and experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior laboratory experience (2+ years)
- Highly motivated person with a strong background in immunology and management of mouse colonies
