Training and Development Manager ( NYSERDA)

Energy Economic Development Corporation is looking for a Clean Energy Training and Development Manager who will work with the Clean Energy Academy (CEA) workforce development team to ensure trainees are prepared to enter the clean energy workforce. The Clean Energy Training and development manager will analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs to ensure participants are well prepared to enter a job in one of the 5 Small Commercial Energy Efficiency Analyst tracks (e.g., Lighting, HVAC, Building Insulation, and Heating).

The Training and Development Manager will utilize various training methods such as workshops, 1:1 coaching, lectures, and hands-on training opportunities. A variety of training methods will be utilized to support our graduates particularly those from priority populations, members of disadvantaged communities and the new workers that take our program.

To that end, we are looking for a Clean Energy Training and Development Manager to assist our Clean Energy Academy graduates prepare for job placement into one of 6 Clean Energy Career tracks: 1. Sales in Clean Energy 2. Energy Efficiency Auditing & Analysis 3. Clean Energy Technologies Outreach Coordinator 4. Clean Energy Project Coordinating and Management 5. Energy Efficiency Systems Design & Engineering 6. Clean Energy Program Implementation Inspection

The Clean Energy Training and Development Manager will,

Lead a team in delivering quality professional development training leading to successful employment outcomes for 70% of CEA graduates Ensure team members have resources and training necessary to conduct consistent support to job seekers aligned with industry specific competency pyramid and job category career pathways Analyze training needs to develop new training programs or modify and improve existing programs Evaluate instructor performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement Plan, develop, and provide training and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops Have a vision tied to the EEDC mission of training and preparing individuals for quality clean energy jobs Track student data including document progress submission, attendance and placements Collaborate with Capstone manager to design and connect job seekers with a curated capstone/ hands on training opportunity aligned with career road map goals Provide periodic feedback to the EEDC leadership on opportunities to improve student outcomes Keep graduate information up to date in Monday data management boards and utilize computer based training software such a Moodle and other enterprise resource planning software Be both an individual contributor and a team player; flexible, willing and eager to learn and grow Be a contributing member of the EnergyEDC Leadership team and participate in leadership meetings Be self-driven, self-motivated and organized; able to prioritize student and business needs
