Citibank, N.A. seeks an Underwriter for its New York, New York location.Duties: Provide first line of defense credit approval including assessment of obligors’ business risk and credit profile, credit limits, and risk appetite. Adopt leading practices in credit analysis, underwriting, and monitoring, including the end-to-end underwriting process, from early origination discussions to development of credit approval memos and senior approval forums. Review credit approval memo packages and ensure they are clear, complete, and accurate. Assist bankers and credit analysts in underwriting requests for credit extensions for new and existing clients. Complete periodic credit reviews with a focus on complex and higher dollar exposure transactions. Recommend risk rating and credit classifications based on the credit analysis that is performed under supervision. Work with independent risk colleagues on risk mitigation at both inception of transactions and on an ongoing basis. Facilitate relationships with key clients within banking and risk, and with key regulators, internal audit and control functions. Support underwriting heads on strategic initiatives and projects. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite, in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field and 7 years of progressively responsible, post-baccalaureate experience as a Credit Risk Group Manager, Associate, Relationship Manager or related position involving conducting credit risk analysis for a global financial services institution. 7 years of experience must include: Credit underwriting and credit monitoring, including new client onboarding and new deal origination; Conducting fundamental industry research, including analyzing macroeconomic data and industry trends; Conducting credit analysis and financial analysis for corporations, including reviewing credit documents and negotiating terms and conditions; Financial modeling and enterprise valuations; Credit and industry limits monitoring; and Institutional banking. 5 years of experience must include: Setting up credit facilities; and Training and mentoring junior bankers and credit analysts.
