Location: Hybrid, 2-3 days/week onsite in New York City, NY

We seek a UX Designer passionate about designing and developing beautifully engaging experiences in digital health. The candidate should be a highly creative designer who can deliver leading-edge UX experiences that challenge current conventions.

Specific Responsibilities

In your role as UX Designer at Kohler Ventures, you will:

  • As a member of the design team, you will be responsible for creating the user experience for the mobile application and physical user interfaces. This includes designing the overall experience from initial unboxing to daily usage.

  • Champion the user's perspective, leveraging a deep understanding of personas, pain points, aesthetic preferences, and customer journeys to guide design decisions.

  • Partner within cross-functional teams to align on customer needs and translate them into compelling product solutions that effectively address identified challenges.

  • Articulate research insights, design concepts, detailed solutions, and rationale with clarity and confidence to diverse stakeholders, both verbally and visually.

  • Drive user testing by conducting ethnographic and online interviews to inform design decisions, validate critical features, and minimize risk.

  • Leverage design thinking and agile principles to craft and iterate high-fidelity prototypes, incorporating user feedback to deliver continuous product improvements.

  • Cultivate a strong understanding of evolving user needs, competitive landscape, and emerging UX trends in the U.S. and international markets to inform strategic design decisions.

Skills/Requirements

  • 3+ years of demonstrably successful UX design experience, delivering user-centric solutions within digital and physical experiences.

  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in the Design field from an accredited institution and is equipped with a strong foundation in design principles, deep use of critical creative UX software, and practiced in user-centered methodologies.

  • Proficient in end-to-end UX design, including strategic analysis, user flow development, architecture design, persona creation, experience mapping, wireframing, and prototype testing.

  • Proven track record of crafting exceptional design experiences, seamlessly blending visual appeal with intuitive usability, encompassing UI, typography, color, layouts, and motion graphics.

  • Thrive in a culture of collaboration and collective brainstorming, where open sharing of work-in-progress is encouraged.

  • As an Experience Designer, you collaborate with senior team members to deliver high-quality digital experiences, prioritize design tasks, and bring innovative ideas to life.

  • Highly proficient in applying a technical understanding of innovative platforms like connected smart home devices and digital health products to optimize user experiences.

  • Effective communicator, engaging internal stakeholders through compelling presentations, storytelling, and fostering collaborative dialogue.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and sharp analytical and abstract reasoning capabilities fueling an idea-driven approach that relentlessly pursues progress.

  • Champion of user-centered design, leveraging robust knowledge of design methodologies and a strategic application of user testing, feedback, and insights to drive iterative improvements and deliver transformative results.

  • Driven by an insatiable passion for design, actively seeking opportunities to push boundaries, refine skills, and contribute to the evolution of design thinking.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

The salary range for this position is $92,200-$116,500. The actual base salary offered to a candidate may be higher than the approved range. This will vary depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. This position is subject to a 16% Area Salary Differential (Cost of Living Adjustment) in the NYC metro area. The approved base salary range including ASD for this position is $106,952-$135,140 depending on location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and a special project incentive. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision and 401k.
