Job Description:

Vice President, Civil Department Manager New York Region

Parsons is a recognized leader in the design and delivery of major civil/highway projects in the region. We have delivered some of the most significant projects across New York State that improved highways, strengthened bridges, modernized transit operations, reconnected communities, upgraded electrical systems, and safeguarded natural resources for New Yorkers to use and enjoy. Our Civil/Highway Group in New York has carried out a significant effort and contributed to the quality of life in upstate New York on the I-81 Viaduct Project, the largest & most ambitious construction projects ever undertaken by New York State Department of Transportation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Parsons is looking for a seasoned New York state civil/highway executive to join our team. Replacing a long-standing New York region Executive, you will lead and grow the team as well as interface with clients, develop opportunities, strategize teaming and manage certain design projects from planning through completion. Supported by our strong design team, you and your team of project managers will play a key role in growing our business with key New York agencies including the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT) and the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC). We are currently working with these agencies on highway improvement projects and want to take advantage of our existing relationships to pursue more civil/highway projects using a strategy that you would help shape. In this role, you would report directly to the Regional Manager, and interact externally directly with client project managers and executives, and internally with project managers and department leads.

The ideal location for this this job is in our New York City office and for the right candidate a hybrid option is possible.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • 20 + years of engineering experience delivering major highway projects for NYSDOT & NYCDOT and/or NYCDDC

  • Proven background leading multidisciplinary design teams on challenging, high-profile projects

  • Able to determine winning strategies, teams, budgets, delivery approaches and staffing requirements

  • A good people leader – succession planning, reward those who perform, coach those who have development needs

  • Deep background managing the environmental, social and economic impacts (EIS) components of projects

  • Registered Professional Engineer in NY

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Recognized as a leader in the New York road and highway community

  • Experience managing and running a traffic group

Salary Range:

$179,800.00 - $343,700.00

This position is eligible for incentive compensation.
