As a Wealth Management Functional Finance - Vice President in the Strategic Initiatives, Marketing & Functional Finance team, you will be instrumental in managing and propelling strategies that support high-growth businesses and initiatives across J.P Morgan Wealth Management. Your role will encompass financial analysis and reporting for three key functional areas: Solutions & Advice, Supervision, and Practice Management. Your focus will be on financial performance and expense management, which includes forecasting and budgeting for these functions.
For this role, candidates must be able to physically work in our New York offices 3 days a week and remotely from home 2 days per week. The specific schedule will be determined and communicated by direct management.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct, consolidate, and present financial analyses and deliver actionable insights to grow the business, improve profitability, and optimize expenses
Partner across the Wealth Management finance teams and business stakeholders to execute on strategic priorities
Manage headcount and expenses for the functions, including budgeting, forecasting and ad-hoc analyses
Research expense variances and provide insights on drivers, risks and opportunities to budget
Develop and track progress against expenses and budget, partnering with the business to ensure alignment and compliance with firm policies
Collaborate with Strategic Initiatives team on business cases for Solutions & Advice initiatives, aiding with revenue & expense assumptions, articulating the financial impact, and presenting results for investment funding decisions
Prepare materials and coordinate deliverables for senior stakeholders (e.g., project status updates, strategic analysis, presentations), to facilitate decision-making in business reviews, presentations, and budget reviews
Learn the business, strategy, and financials, establish relationships with the team and business partners
Take initiative on process improvements, data automation, and visualization to drive the team towards better efficiency, including collaborating with broader team to identify & implement opportunities for automation
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
7+ years relevant work experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (forecasting, budgeting, P&L, month-end close, expense/revenue management, etc.)
Bachelor's degree
Expert in Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in or ability to learn internal budgeting systems, headcount management tools, and travel and entertainment (T&E) applications
Intellectual curiosity and exceptional problem-solving skills coupled with attention to detail
Self-motivated and passionate about driving decisions through analytical insights
Proactive learner who possesses a solid work ethic and critical thinking skills
Comfortable working with large complex data sets and distilling insights into executive presentations
Extremely organized in taking a comprehensive project management approach to all work
Ability to own projects and processes end-to-end
High emotional intelligence and confidence in interfacing directly with senior management
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
Experience with corporate financial analysis and building financial business cases
Experience with expense management & expense applications strongly preferred
Understanding of the Wealth Management business
