Classification: Non-Exempt (CASACs, Licensed or Masters level clinicians)

Lexington Center for Recovery is seeking Full-Time Substance Abuse Counselors for our Rockland County locations (Airmont, Haverstraw, Valley Cottage). Counselors are to provide individual, group and/or family counseling with program participants on matters of alcohol and/or substance use disorder towards helping clients achieve their person centered, treatment and recovery goals. Counselors report to Program Director or Assistant Program Director while participating as a member of an interdisciplinary team.

Counselors upholds and complies with OASAS Canon of Ethical Principles, confidentiality and regulations.

Position Responsibilities: Conduct intake assessments including walk-ins and ongoing evaluations of clients. Case conference intakes with supervisor prior to assigning level of care. Directly coordinate and facilitate appropriate referrals with clients who need a different level of care for other service modality, providing a warm hand-off. Complete all evaluation documentation as required. Counselors are to provide DWI evaluations and complete family court evaluations as required. This includes outreach collaterals by phone, compose evaluation and letter, and send to court. Counselors are required to send referents.

Skills, Knowledge, Education, Experience: Counselors must possess a clinical license (LMSW, LMHC, or Limited Permit etc) or current certification as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or be CASAC eligible. Bachelors degree in a related field (social work, psychology, counseling, human services) is preferred. At least one-year prior experience in the field of alcoholism/substance use disorder treatment required.
