LOGISTICS TECHNICIAN II

ROLE DEFINITION

DuPont has an immediate opening for a Logistics Technician II, SC at our Newark, DE site in our Electronics and Industrial (E&I) division.

WORK HOURS

6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION

Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:

  • Performs shipping & receiving responsibilities : prepares material for shipping through material put-away, picking orders, verification of shipments and packaging; pulls material for delivery to the manufacturing areas, able to manage the daily CofA process with all of its requirements, prepares pallets for shipping; loads trucks; performs weekly cycle count on finished goods & supplies. Maintains good housekeeping, safety and security activities in the warehouse. Responsible for accurate inventory levels.

  • Participates in achieving the company quality goals : dedicated to reducing shipping & receiving issues as a part of continuous improvement; utilizes the DuPont work processes, strives for a better understanding of our customers’ requirements; maintains proficiency in problem solving techniques; embraces the concept of teamwork; takes ownership for the quality of the products produced and services performed; participates fully in the 5S program; and provides excellent internal and external customer service.

  • Operates in compliance with company safety practices : complies with all DuPont safety standards; aids in the development of departmental safety rules; ensures all equipment is in good working order and operates in a safe manner; follows procedures for handling and disposal of chemicals; monitors area for hazards; uses safety equipment when required; and maintains a safe, clean work area.

  • Performs other duties as assigned .

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED/HSE

  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse or material handling experience, 3 years or more is preferred. Inventory control experience would be helpful.

  • Excellent computer knowledge and data entry skills are required. Experience using SAP is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work well with employees in other departments as required.

  • Ability to operate material handling equipment is required (i.e. Reach truck, Sit down forklift, etc.).

  • Knowledge of the DOT regulations for the shipping/handling of hazardous materials is preferred.

  • Must be able to work overtime as required/requested.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time; perform sustained manual activities at moderate to heavy levels of exertion, including lifting and moving loads of a minimum of 50 pounds, climb ladders/stairs, work on elevated platforms (Powered Industrial Order Picker Trucks) at a height of ground level to 30 feet high ; use hand tools and operate fixed and mobile plant equipment; work and travel throughout plant environment of varied temperatures and humidity; a full range of motion; and to wear personal protective devices.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT : The working environment is a warehouse setting. Daily contact with employees in other departments may be required.
