WSP USA Lead Coordinator - NYCT Worldwide Inspection and Testing Program in Newark, New Jersey

This Opportunity

WSP USA is in the search for a Lead Coordinator - NYCT Worldwide Inspection Program for their New York City, NY or Newark, NJ Office !

This position will assume as Lead Metals Coordinator for NYCT's Worldwide Inspection Program. This program requires that all material procured by New York City Transit (NYCT) be tested and inspected in order to meet the standards specified by each NYCT User Group.

Your Impact

  • Coordinate factory and sample inspections with vendors, manufacturers and testing laboratories.

  • Create the laboratory test protocols utilizing approved vendor drawings, NYCT specifications, NYCT Purchase Orders and Industry Standards (ASTM, AREMA, ANSI, SAE, etc.)

  • Develop inspection protocols by referencing specifications, drawings and industry standards to streamline the inspection processes, increase productivity, optimize quality, and expedite processes.

  • Maintain a library of drawings, specifications, industry standards and inspection protocols

  • Perform quality assurance reviews by reviewing inspection reports as compared to specifications, standard drawings, and purchase order requirements.

  • Participate in project meetings

  • Provide technical assistance and perform tasks as directed

  • Implement/recommend process improvements for the inspection and testing program and suggested revisions / improvements to NYCT specifications.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience.

  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.

  • Familiarity with process and concepts for design/build.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

  • Familiarity with relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.

  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.

  • Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.

  • Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.

  • Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

  • Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer's License (P.E.)

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $99,000.00 - $115,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
