Job Overview:

The primary function of a Lead Pulmonary Function Technologist is to oversee, coordinate, and participate in the pulmonary function laboratory activities, including scheduling and performing various pulmonary function tests, exercise testing, and blood gas analysis.

Qualifications:

Required:

• NJ Respiratory License

• Education/Training/Certification/Licensure:Registered Respiratory Therapist.

• You may hold a certification in pulmonary function technology or a registered pulmonary function technologist credential.

• Five years of experience performing respiratory therapy including three years of performing pulmonary function procedures

Preferred:

Certifications and Licenses Required (if applicable):

• BLS certification

• Maintains BLS Certification. ACLS, PALS and NRP certifications recommended. Successful completion of all required mandatory competencies and orientation programs.

Scheduling Requirements (non-exempt positions):

• 8:00 5:00

• Days

Essential Functions:

• Assist the Department Educator in orientation of new employees.

• Ensures all new employees are oriented to the shift including responsibilities and duties.

• Will demonstrate and observe procedures in various units and assure the new employee s understanding.

• Completes chart reviews, QA/PI reviews and other assigned tasks in a timely manner.

• Participates in planning for Department services. Accepts assigned tasks and obtains results.

• Effectively addresses clinical and operational issues as they arise.

• Encourages and completes inter and intra-shift communication using identified processes.
