Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with IT, outside consultants, and the various user departments on the implementation and upgrades of major system developments.

  • Perform in-depth business and system analysis of P2P, including Accounts Payable processes. Recommends changes in policies and procedures to improve operational efficiencies and maximize the utilization of NJ TRANSIT’s Accounts Payable system. Ensures AP system configurations and upgrades adheres to leading best practices, business operations requirements and organizational values.

  • Document existing workflows for the Accounts Payable department, develop workflow changes required to complete the implementation of Oracle Cloud. Identify problem areas, i.e., staffing needs, critical areas requiring close coordination, etc.

  • Manages communications across departments to assess user needs and identifies gaps in the P2P business process; identifies and defines potential solutions.

  • Provide Oracle cloud functional advice and guidance across the AP area.

  • Build relationships and work collaboratively with stakeholders within the organization to analyze and translate business needs into technology requirements, and report on project statuses.

  • Provides interdepartmental financial support, Ad Hoc reporting, data analysis, and troubleshooting as needed.

  • Must be flexible to work in a dynamic environment. Adapt to changing conditions and modify project execution plans as appropriate while managing multiple projects concurrently.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Supervision Given to:

  • Principal Accountant.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related area.

  • Five (5) years of applied experience in the development and implementation of automated financial systems.

Knowledge and Skills:

Essential

  • Knowledge of industry standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to ERP applications.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and other MS applications.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects from conception to completion.

  • Organizational and documentation skills.

  • Understanding of Accounting Principles.

  • Demonstrates initiative and takes ownership of work.

Preferred:

  • Oracle Fusion AP Experience. Oracle Fusion Applications certification such as Oracle Fusion Financials is a plus.
