Employer: Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New JerseyPosition: Solution Design Engineer (Req #6010)Location: 3 Penn Plaza East, Newark, NJ 07105Duties: Draw on experience with Amazon Web Services, DevOps technologies, IBM WebSphere Platform Services, RedHat OpenShift Container Platform, and automation scripting for the development of solution design and architectural practices in application development. Design solutions by mapping common product requirements and business problems to reusable end-to-end technology solutions. Undertake and provides technical leadership on difficult software engineering projects involving multiple disciplines and that may impact multiple business units. Approve technical approach to solutions development by performing impact analysis for larger design options. Work with the business and IT development teams to design solutions that are consistent within a larger enterprise architecture. Lead the team on the resolution of escalated software and/or application issues. Assign, review, and direct resources in the conversion of business requirements/requests into technical specifications and/or implementation plans. Manage technical design of new projects and enhancements to ensure they are compliant with architecture standards, meets the project capacity and performance needs, and maximize solution re-use. Conduct technical project reviews. Lead the due diligence process to uncover requirements needed to create a solution. Perform business case development. May work remotely 3-4 days per week but restricted to New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Delaware.Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering or a related field, plus seven (7) years of post-baccalaureate experience as a technical systems analyst in a relevant field reflecting demonstrable ability in the skill set described above. The required skills do not need to be maintained over the full term of required experience. Salary: $160,000 per year
