Climax Portable Machine Tools Accounting Manager in Newberg, Oregon
Position: Accounting Manager
Department: 10-820: Accounting/Finance
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Location: Newberg, OR (Hybrid)
JOB SUMMARY
Position will be responsible for performing daily financial reporting, assisting in annual audits, analyzing variances, maintaining inventory, forecasting revenue/expenses, reviewing travel expenses and job costing margins.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
GL/AP/AP Oversight
Coordinate financial responsibilities with the accounting team.
Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles in reporting business transactions.
Collaborate closely with team members to achieve month-end close.
Support month end process and closing of the books
Reconciles GL accounts, including complex and intercompany accounts as assigned and teams with others to resolve reconciling items as needed
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement journal entries.
Foreign financial statement translation and analysis
Review and analysis of consolidated results – including intercompany
Month End reviews and trend analysis
Issuance of multi-tier consolidation statements
Partner with FP&A in metric and reporting needs
Oversight of cost accounting and related reporting and analysis
Manage inventory of raw materials, forecast revenue, and calculate accruals for monthly reporting.
Research and analyze expense variances for management review.
Calculate budget variances and communicate significant issues to management.
Assist in driving departmental process improvements
Assist in driving operational process improvements
Monthly sales commission calculations
Monthly sales tax filing oversight and approvals
Fixed asset accounting and tracking of capital expenditure projects in progress
Lease and Revenue Recognition Standard accounting
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Assist in the annual audit process, including drafting financial statements and notes.
Corporate compliance, including business license renewals
Quarterly/Annual income tax filings and payment oversight
Corporate annual filings
Annual property tax filings and payment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
5+ years of accounting experience.
Consolidation Experience with Foreign currency translation preferred
Must be a team player.
Experience in international manufacturing is preferred.

Solid mathematical abilities.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Familiar with Syteline is preferred as well as other ERP systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Office and travel have moderate noise levels. Machine/Product demonstrations and customer visits can have loud noise levels.
Noise levels may be extreme and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided. Usage may be driven by customer requirements. Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, steel toe boots, hardhat and safety glasses, hearing protection. Customer site working environments can be extreme in regard to height, confined spaces, ambient temperature, physical requirements and hazards.
