Job Summary

As an Engineer-Design, you will work in cross-discipline teams within different projects. You will support develop, integrate and implement technical solutions and compliance documentation complaint with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule and manufacturing constraints.

Remote position with travel required as needed (up to 20%)

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and check technical solutions and compliance documentation to ensure they are compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule, and manufacturing constraints

  • Identify technical problems and apply/integrate solutions

  • Execute and implement method plans, toolsets and approaches that are appropriate and complaint to achieve the design and programme objectives

  • Support the creation of technical solutions against customer requirements as input to bids and proposals withing assigned programmes/projects

  • Identify and assess technical risk for own work and propose mitigations within assigned programmes/projects

  • Support or generate test specfications/plans and/or alternate means of compliance (analysis/similarity) as required to demonstrate design solution complies with certification requirements

  • Develop designs compliant to cost and manufacturing requirements using appropriate techniques for design such as manufacture and assembly (DFMA) and design to cost

  • Create detailed design definitions of products, including interfaces, dimensions, materials, parts, manufacturing process requirements, assemblies, and tolerances which are compliant to all design requirements and objectives

  • Generate assigned project deliverables, documents, and reports according to the project signature authorizations

  • Support technical customer reviews, including formal gate reviews, including the creation and preparation of technical data and presentations of product design

  • Perform all activities at a level of minimal supervision and support engineers with peer-to-peer reviews

  • Identify improvements and support the creation of work instructions, procedures, technical manuals, and guidance

  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical field

  • 3+ years of relevant design experience using CAD software such as UG, NX or Catia gained within an engineering discipline, ideally within an aerospace environment and in mult-disciplinary engineering project terms (Design/CM, EWIS, Analysis, M&P, Manufacturing/Industrialization)

  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR regulations and/or program requirements

  • Proficient is Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent in co-operation, networking, and teamwork

  • Aerospace Engines industry experience

  • Experience with new product development

  • Experience with aftermarket support

  • Able to act under own initiative in relation to the assigned tasks within defined functional procedures/governance

  • Ability to describe technical information of a technical task to a wide audience within the engineering business

  • Have basic knowledge of Lean Principals

  • The ability to have technical discussions with customers and suppliers as required

  • Able to analyze and interpret customer requirements

  • Awareness of other functions (Desing, Operations, Production, and Supplier Management)

  • Able to support budget compliance of the own activities

  • Worked in cross-cultural teams
