Job Summary

As an Engineer-Analysis (Solid Mechanics) engineer, you will in cross-discipline teams within different projects. Your everyday tasks will be to work within the US Design Engineering team on FE - simulations using both commercial and in-house developed tools. Advanced knowledge in the field of fatigue, fracture mechanics, applied mechanics and Finite Element Analyses (FEA).

You will support, develop, integrate and implement technical solutions and compliance documentation complaint with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements within agreed program, schedule and manufacturing constraints.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and check technical solutions and compliance documentation to ensure they are compliant with all relevant customer, regulatory, and airworthiness requirements, within agreed program, schedule, and manufacturing constraints.

  • Identify technical problems and apply/integrate solutions.

  • Execute and implement methods plans, toolsets and approaches that are appropriate and compliant to achieve the design and programme objectives.

  • Support the creation of technical solutions against customer requirements as input to bids and proposals within assigned programmes/projects.

  • Identify and assess technical risk for own work and propose mitigations within assigned programmes/projects.

  • Support or generate test specifications/plans and/or alternate means of compliance (analysis/similarity) as required to demonstrate design solution complies with certification requirements.

  • Develop designs compliant to cost and manufacturing requirements using appropriate techniques for design such as manufacture and assembly (DFMA) and design to cost.

  • Create detailed design definitions of products, including interfaces, dimensions, materials, parts, manufacturing process requirements, assemblies, and tolerances which are compliant to all design requirements and objectives.

  • Generate assigned project deliverables, documents, and reports according to the project signature authorizations.

  • Support technical and customer reviews, including formal gate reviews, including the creation and preparation of technical data and presentations of product design.

  • Process documentation such as concessions and non-conformances, and provide technical support by implementing solutions to address non-conforming products, designs, and compliance documentation.

  • Perform all activities at a level of minimal supervision and support other engineers with peer-to-peer reviews.

  • Identify improvements and support the creation of work instructions, procedures, technical manuals, and guidelines.

  • Support operations and support manufacturing engineering team in translation of the product design and manufacturing requirements of a product in a manufacturing design of a product during prototype build and serial manufacturing, where applicable.

  • Understand the qualification process of products, and prepare compliance documentation to internal, customer, and regulatory requirements, where applicable.

  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field

  • 3+ years of relevant Aerospace analysis experience in Solid Mechanics Engineering

  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR regulations and/or program requirements

  • Experienced user of Finite Element Method with documented experience in use of software tools ANSYS WorkBench

  • Experienced user of Python

  • Favorable software tools: NASGRO

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science degree, within the discipline of applied mechanics

  • 3+ years of rotor products in Aerospace

  • Proven ability to review technical documentations

  • Excellent in co-operation, networking, team-working

  • Aerospace Engines industry experience

  • Experience with new product development

  • Able to act under own initiative in relation to the assigned tasks with defined functional procedures/governance

  • Ability to describe technical information of a technical task to a wide audience within the engineering business

  • Have basic knowledge of Lean Principals

  • The ability to have technical discussions with customers and suppliers as required

  • Able to analyze and interpret customer requirements

  • Awareness of other functions (Design, Operations, Production and Supplier Management)

  • Able to support budget compliance of the own activities

  • Worked in cross-cultural teams
