Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Newport, Kentucky

Description

We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team based in Northern Kentucky. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity where you will be crucial in managing financial aspects of our operations. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be expected to demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department

• Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial data for budgeting and forecasting processes

• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions

• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review

• Conduct regular audits to identify and resolve discrepancies

• Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing recommendations for improvement

• Stay updated with new accounting regulations and industry trends

• Assist in the implementation of accounting software and systems

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures

• Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles

• Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close

• Assist with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes

• Research and analyze expense variances for company management.

Requirements • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrated expertise in General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close activities

• Hands-on experience with business software such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and Infor Visual ERP

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
