Description

We are seeking a meticulous and diligent Accounting Supervisor to join our team in NEWPORT NEWS, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, including accounts payables, billing, and budgeting. You will also be required to work on commercial construction projects and work with various accounting software systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entry of proposals, change orders, and budget adjustments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.

• Review proposals, change orders, and budget adjustments entered by Project Accountants, ensuring that job structure is correct and standard cost codes are included.

• Upload and monitor budgets, reporting on margins monthly for each active job.

• Issue, research, and review forecast monthly, maintaining open and collaborative communication with all project team members.

• Coordinate with Project Teams on job adjustments, including costs, billings, and budgets.

• Supervise the maintenance the Project Teams, including contingency.

• Assign jobs to Project Accountants as they are established in system

• Act as a backup for Project Accountants/ and Payables when needed.

• Enter trade payables invoices, monitor payments, and review compliance.

Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role in the field of accounting.

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential.

• Should have experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Must be well-versed in various accounting functions.

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

• Proficiency in auditing processes is necessary.

• Experience in managing billing functions is required.

• Must have solid skills in budgeting and financial forecasting.

• Experience in managing accounts for Commercial Construction Projects will be a plus.
