We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll and Accounting Specialist to join our team in Newport News, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of tasks including processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and handling HR-related duties. This role spans across different industry sectors and will provide you with a diverse and dynamic workplace environment.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately processing payroll and maintaining relevant records.

• Handling certified payroll and job costing, adhering to Davis Bacon wages.

• Managing HR-related tasks such as onboarding, insurance, and understanding HR laws.

• Overseeing accounts payable, including the preparation of invoices and service invoices.

• Administering healthcare enrollment and benefits.

• Using software such as ComputerEase and Microsoft Excel for data entry and account reconciliation.

• Assisting with federal taxes.

• Carrying out HR duties and maintaining knowledge of HR law.

• Utilizing skills in Invoice Processing, ADP - Payroll, Prevailing Wage, and Human Resources (HR) Administration.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Payroll and Accounting Specialist or similar role

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation

• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Capable of handling Billing tasks efficiently

• Proficient in Data Entry

• Experience with Invoice Processing

• Must have excellent Microsoft Excel skills

• Familiarity with ADP - Payroll is required

• Knowledge of Prevailing Wage policies

• Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration

• Proficiency in ComputerEase software is a plus
