We have an exciting opportunity as a Sourcing Manager - Supply Chain at Ferguson! Your role delivers value by implementing effective negotiation strategies. These strategies are essential for reducing organizational costs and risks. They also aim to improve vendor performance and encourage innovation from the supply base. You will be partnering and supporting our Supply Chain organization.

Location:

This is a Hybrid role based out of our corporate offices in Newport News, VA location, in accordance with the Ferguson Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement sourcing methodology and initiatives, including developing sourcing plans, obtaining business alignment, negotiating and implementing contracts, and generating savings.

  • Proactively engage and collaborate with partners to understand sourcing opportunities, develop requirements, evaluate and conduct competitive RFx events, select suppliers, negotiate, and contract.

  • Consistently conduct market research and collaborate with multiple departments to understand demand, supplier trends, user needs, and potential opportunities within designated sourcing areas.

  • Lead and direct sourcing activities to enhance benefits through continuous improvement of goods and services provided to Ferguson and leverage overall company spend.

  • Coordinates activities across Ferguson’s supply chain organizations to effectively interact with supply chain professionals at all levels.

  • Negotiate complex supply chain agreements for logistics, distribution, transportation, and enterprise solutions.

  • Analyze historical supply chain data and market trends to identify trends.

  • Stay informed of logistics technology advances and apply appropriate technology to improve logistics processes.

  • Draft, negotiate, and complete contracts in close collaboration with the business, Legal, IT Security, Vendor Management, and other relevant business partners.

  • Responsible for selecting vendors and service providers that meet our customer's needs, which includes conducting comparative market analysis, assisting with strategic planning and deployment plans, handling logistical issues, developing pricing, and handling any intensified issues involving the vendor or service provider.

  • Ensure awareness of current supply chain trends, vendor capabilities, and changes in traditional and emerging solutions.

  • Handle and optimize supplier performance, including ensuring contract compliance, driving continuous improvement, fostering innovations, and reducing the total cost of ownership.

  • Lead cross-functional teams in a structured sourcing and project management process to accomplish sourcing, supply chain, and operations objectives.

  • Identify new business requirements and opportunities for cost savings, including process savings and process improvements.

  • Monitor, measure, and audit contract and supplier performance.

Qualifications:

  • 2 year or 4 year degree in business, supply chain, or project management preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with suppliers to conduct and lead direct negotiation of contracts preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain or logistics strongly preferred. Procurement, process improvement, or related considered.

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM, APICS, CSCP) or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent experience preferred.

  • Experience and familiarity with sourcing concepts and supply chain and logistics operations methodologies.

  • Strong communication skills along with an ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.

  • Skilled problem solver with the desire and proven ability to create innovative solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide value through effective negotiations at the enterprise level, with experience leading negotiations across the supply chain and indirect spend categories.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic mindset, and ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Ability to build strong internal relationships with vendors, the market, and within Ferguson.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in the accomplishment of company goals.

  • Ability to be creative and innovative in finding solutions and negotiating strategies.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead others.

  • Evidence of an ability to work cross-functionally with colleagues across multiple groups and departmental including technology, operations, finance, and legal.

  • Ability to deliver value through leading vendor negotiations, identifying process improvements, enhancing market intelligence, and improving controls.

  • Ability to document the total value of sourcing activities in alignment with department and company objectives.

  • Ability to expand Sourcing’s ability to influence negotiations and run company vendor relationships positively.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Pay Range:

$7,425.00 - $12,100.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
